Karla specializes in women’s issues, with a focus on prenatal and postpartum care. Her experience spans multiple settings, including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, hospital clinics, and private practice.
Karla’s therapeutic approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory, yet she tailors each session by integrating a variety of psychological modalities to suit her clients' individual needs. She believes that many of us carry unconscious early attachment or traumatic experiences that affect how we think, feel, and interact with the world today. These buried experiences can lead to unproductive communication, strained relationships, and maladaptive coping mechanisms.
Karla works closely with her clients to disentangle these past influences from their present lives, helping them overcome the emotional barriers that have held them back. Her goal is to empower clients to lead more fulfilling, accepting lives by fostering self-awareness and emotional growth. Guided by the science of brain development, Karla is a firm believer that it is never too late to learn new skills or adopt healthier mindsets.
